hi, I'm anna.
I read labour market data the way other people read the news. (Genuinely.)
Career development is a craft.
And like any craft, it gets better when you know your tools of trade. I knew nothing about being a luthier (someone who makes and repairs stringed instruments) but I found out everything I needed to know in under an hour. Because I know my tools. That's how I help people.
I'm a career development specialist and L&D consultant. I work with STEM professionals, green economy career changers, and organisations navigating industry transition.
I’m in my 4th career and about to train for the 5th (looking at you, Pilates teacher training). I’m Science, Education, HR and Career Development qualified. I’ve worked with all ages and professions, and have spanned industries along the way- from big pharma to high schools, from insurance to energy.
I'm a member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) and I’m Cappfinity Skills Discovery Accredited. I volunteered for the CDAA on the NSW committee and at Career Expos. I've worked with people from mining, engineering, energy, electrical and mechanical trades, IT and cybersecurity, hospitality, state and local government, education and school students.
I'm consistently, genuinely delighted by the range of ways people spend their working lives. From environmental scientists pivoting to consulting to early career IT graduates, to hospitality managers searching for their next role. Every single one of them deserves an opportunity to shine.
What I do
I use real data, not gut feel.
The Jobs and Skills Atlas. The Skills Priority List. LinkedIn's economic graph. I read this stuff the way other people read the news-which means the strategy we build is grounded in what the market is actually doing right now, not what someone wrote in a textbook in 2015.

I know the training landscape. Like, really know it..
If the qualification exists in Australia…accredited, credible, worth your time- I'll find it. If it doesn't exist yet, I'll tell you that too. Most career coaches can't do this. I can.
STEM and green economy is my niche.
Engineers pivoting to sustainability. Scientists moving into policy. Energy professionals navigating transition. If your career sits at the intersection of technical expertise and a rapidly changing industry — you're exactly who I work with.
“Careers work is social justice work. Every person who comes through the door just wants an opportunity to shine, be appropriately challenged, and feel valued. Every single one of you deserves that outcome.”

You've been applying. You're getting nowhere. Or you haven't started yet because you don't know where.
Either way: the problem is almost never your skills.
It's that the job market doesn't reward the most capable people — it rewards the people who know how to work it.
That's what we fix.

The Career Design Series 3 sessions - $1,200
Three sessions. One framework. No wasted time.
We Investigate what's actually happening in your corner of the labour market (with data, not vibes). We design your strategy. Then we experiment your way into the right role — with outreach that doesn't feel weird, interviews you're actually prepared for, and a 90-day plan you'll actually use.
You leave with: labour market analysis, skills audit, networking plan, value proposition, outreach scripts, interview prep, and a 90-day action plan. Plus recordings, email support between sessions, and the full toolkit.
Particularly useful if you're a STEM professional, navigating the energy transition, or you've been applying for three months and getting nowhere.
Good people leave when nobody's talking to them about their career.
Most organisations know career development matters. Most don't have a consistent way of doing it.
Career conversations happen awkwardly (or not at all). Training gets booked without a clear map of what it's supposed to build.
Honest career conversations shouldn't be a radical act. But right now, in most organisations, they are.
I work with organisations navigating change - energy transition, industry restructure, workforce reskilling to build career development that actually works.

Career Conversations for Managers
Half-day or full-day workshop · from $3,000
Most managers avoid career conversations because nobody taught them how to have them.
This workshop gives managers the tools, the language, and the confidence for real career conversations — not performance reviews dressed up as development chats. The kind that make people feel genuinely seen. The kind that make them stay.
Build real individual contributor tracks. Sponsor lateral moves. Have honest conversations that don't default to 'up' as the only direction.
-

Career Development Program Design
L&D consulting · from $3,500 · scoped per project
You've got the people. You're not sure you've got the right learning architecture around them.
I design career development programs that land — not generic content delivered at people and forgotten two weeks later. Structured pathways, learning sequences for employees moving into green economy roles, audits of what you've already got and what's missing.
One thing I do that most L&D consultants don't: I find the qualifications, micro-credentials, and external training that actually exists, is actually credible, and actually maps to where your people need to go. The Australian training landscape is vast and genuinely confusing. If the course exists, I'll find it.
-

Green + STEM Career Literacy
For career coaches, HR, and talent acquisition · from $2,500
You work with STEM and green economy clients. But do you really know what those careers look like? Which qualifications are credible? Where demand is growing and why?
This is training for practitioners who want to give genuinely useful advice - not generic career guidance with a sustainability sticker on it.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Nope. About 90% of my clients are employed - they just know they're not in the right place, or they can see the industry shifting and want to get ahead of it rather than react to it.
If you're happily settled and going nowhere, you probably don't need me. But if there's a persistent background hum of 'I should be doing something different' — that's worth paying attention to.
-
Great question. AI can help you write. It can't tell you where the market is actually heading, which employers are genuinely growing in your sector, which qualifications are credible and which are a waste of $3,000, or how your specific background positions you in your specific niche.
I use AI too - as a tool. The difference is I know what questions to ask it, and I know when its answer is wrong.
-
Absolutely not. In fact, some of the best sessions start with 'I have no idea.' That's a legitimate place to be, and it's more common than anyone admits.
What I do need: you to show up and be honest about where you're at. The clarity comes from the work, not before it.
-
I won't pretend I know your specific technical work in detail. I am STEM trained (Medical Scientist with a Biology/Psych Major) so I LOVE talking science.
What I do know, in genuine depth, is the labour market for STEM and green economy professionals in Australia. Where demand is growing, which skills are transferable and how to frame them, which employers are growing their teams, and which qualifications actually matter to those employers.
I've worked with engineers, scientists, energy professionals, and technically-trained people navigating the transition to sustainability roles. It's the work I'm most energised by.
And yes - I will understand your LinkedIn profile.
-
Ha. Fair scepticism.
It's priced low because I want it to be genuinely accessible — not because it's thin. It's a structured self-assessment covering the six most common reasons job searches fail, plus a video walkthrough of how to interpret your results and what to do about each one.
The goal is simple: stop spinning your wheels on the wrong problem. If it saves you two months of applying into the void, it's done its job.
And if it tells you the problem is bigger than a checklist can fix- there's a next step for that too.
-
Yes — this is almost exactly who it's for.
Three months of silence usually means one of three things: a positioning problem (you're not communicating your value clearly), a targeting problem (you're applying to the wrong roles or organisations), or an approach problem (you're relying only on advertised jobs, which is roughly 30% of the market).
We'll figure out which one it is in Session 1. Then we fix it.
-
I get it. The Career Design Series is three sessions because that's genuinely what it takes to build a complete strategy, but if you're further along and just need a sharp set of eyes on your approach, a one-off session can work.
Book a discovery call and tell me where you're at. We'll figure out the right fit from there.
-
Honestly…this is the most common thing I hear. And it's a real constraint, not an excuse.
The workshop is built around that reality. We're not adding a new thing to already-full plates. We're building the skill and the language to have shorter, better conversations more often - not long, formal development sessions once a year.
A good 10-minute career conversation, done regularly, is worth more than an annual review that everyone dreads.
-
You can. You'll get a long list of options with no clear way to evaluate them… what's accredited, what's credible in your specific industry, what employers actually recognise, what's genuinely worth the time and money versus what's a badge factory.
I know the Australian training landscape well- I’m Cert IV TAE and post graduate education qualified. I know the national VET register, the Jobs and Skills Councils, what's emerging in green economy and STEM training, and which providers are respected by which employers.
It's not magic. It's just knowing the right places to look and having the framework to evaluate what you find.
-
Direct, practical, and data-driven. I'm not going to ask you how that makes you feel.
I ask a lot of questions. I'll challenge your assumptions if they're getting in the way. I use real labour market data - not gut feel or generic advice and I'll tell you honestly if your plan needs rethinking.
People usually describe sessions as 'a lot to take in but really useful.' Which is exactly what I'm going for.
